Cacao serves as an amazing heart opener and is also incredibly delicious. Originating from Central and South America, this sacred plant has been a part of ancient ceremonies for thousands of years.

This plant medicine is naturally high in magnesium, iron, antioxidants, and vitamins. It also contains theobromine which stimulates blood flow and the heart and translates to ‘Food of the Gods’.

Cacao has a bitter taste and, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the bitter flavour is associated with the heart — I like to think that it dispels bitterness in the heart.

Preparing and drinking cacao is a wonderful time to give ourselves mental space and peace, to journey inside and connect to our higher self.

Divine Cacao Elixir: Healing Cacao Recipe for Heart and Soul

Add water at a heat of around 50°-60°C in order to avoid burning the cacao.

Using a handheld whisk, whisk it all up until creamy.

I sometimes like to add a tiny drop of natural essential oil (make sure you use good quality oils and check for contraindications) like orange or rose.

Optionally, you can use a cup of organic rose tea instead of pure water, this way you will receive the plant medicine without using oils.
